Web tools run LibreOffice server-side. Filox extracts text and data faithfully, but won't render slide-perfect conversions.
MP3 / WEBP / AVIF encoding
We read them, but export to higher-quality formats (M4A, HEIC) and tell you the trade-off in the UI.
RAR / 7Z archives
Not supported in the current release. ZIP, TAR, and Apple Archive are supported, including encrypted Apple Archive output.
AI upscale / colorize / restore
No on-device Apple model exists yet, and we won't bundle a half-baked one. The day Apple ships it, so do we.

Do my files ever leave my device?
No file operation uploads your files. Processing stays on your device. Optional on-device models or language packs may need a download before first use. The free App Store apps have no trial, licence check, account or usage telemetry.
Is it really free?
The first App Store launch customers get the fully unlocked Mac, iPhone and iPad apps free forever. There is no trial, purchase, account or subscription. The previous direct-download preview is paused.
Is it really faster than the web tools?
It can be, because there is no upload or download round-trip. Actual speed depends on the operation, file size, media format, and Mac; Filox does not promise a fixed completion time.
What does it run on?
The previous Mac preview requires macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon; new downloads are paused. Native Mac App Store, iPhone, and iPad versions are being prepared under one Universal Purchase.
